MOHUN BAGAN LOSE 3 POINTS AGAINST CHURCHILL BROTHERS

04-Mar, 2009 : Mohun Bagan lost to Churchill 3-1 today in an I league match played in Goa. Barreto scored the first goal for Mohun Bagan but conceded one goal just before half time. Half time score read 1-1, Churchill scored 2 more goals in 2nd half. Peter Odafe got yellow card today and will miss next match. Kalu scored 2 goals for Churchill and Odafe scored 1 goal. Kalu was adjudged Man of the Match.
Mohun Bagan played quite well in first half. The goal which Barreto scored was a terrific strike from an acute angle. Tulunga had lobbed the ball nicely in the box which Barreto chest trapped and then pushed the ball inside goal from a very acute angle. Sangram played really well in first half and made quite a few brilliant saves but then in injury time of first half he made an error of judgment and conceded a goal from corner, Odafe headed the ball in. In 2nd half, Mariners could not put up much fight after Barreto went out limping. Churchill scored 2 more goals in 2nd half and made it 3-1 in their favor.
Mohun Bagan will play their next match in I league against Chirag on March 23rd.
