CHIDDI SCORES AGAIN AS MARINERS BEAT CUSTOMS 1-0

Mohun Bagan beat Calcutta Customs 1-0 in a Kolkata Premier League Match yesterday. Chiddi scored the only goal of the match.
Mohun Bagan got their third consecutive win in Kolkata Football League match held at Mohun Bagan Ground. They dominated the match throughout and could have scored many more goals. Seuoka was in the starting lineup along with Chiddi in forward line. He played well and gave some good passes to Chiddi, though he missed one easy chance to score with only goalkeeper to beat.
Chiddi was in his usual form and came close to scoring more than once, but luck was not on his side and the chances were not converted.
Mariners scored the goal in 33rd minute when Snehasish was tripped inside Customs penalty box. Chiddi converted the spot kick by placing the ball to the left of the Customs goalkeeper.
Tomba and Zenith had a great match and combined well in the right flank. They sent numerous crosses but Customs keeper and defence played well and did not allow Mariners to score any more goals.
In the match, Customs hardly made any positive move and Mariners defence was not tested much but still Mandi was awarded Man of the Match.
Coach Karim has to be given credit for the way Mohun Bagan played with mostly reserve bench players. Mohun Bagan will next play against Peerless S.C. on 2nd Dec 2009 at Mohun Bagan Ground.
